The conditions such as Retinitis Pigmentosa, Usher Syndrome, Stargardt Disease silently steals the vision of thousands of South Africans from diverse communities and ethnic backgrounds. The conditions are caused by hidden mistakes in the DNA and occurs most frequently in families with no previous history of blindness. Global research has made tremendous progress and treatments for some genetic forms of retinal vision loss are imminent. Retina South Africa is determined that all South Africans will have access to the miraculous treatments when available.
