Calls for gyms to reopen

Gym owners, trainers, and fitness enthusiasts across South Africa are planning a series of peaceful protests on Wednesday 5th August 2020 between 12:00pm and 2:00pm, against the ongoing closure of fitness facilities under the coronavirus lockdown in South Africa.
The demonstrations, which are scheduled to run from 12 noon to 2 pm, are headed by Fit SA – an association of health and fitness clubs.

It’s been over four months since the coronavirus pandemic arrived in South Africa and the country’s fitness industry has had enough of the lockdown.
Fit SA spokesperson Grant Austin said: “We want to everyone to wear their gym clothes to support the general public. We would like them to hoot in their cars at 1 pm.”
